Measuring CPU Temperature
There are at least 2 ways to go about this. If your computer's BIOS has a temperature monitor (most newer computers do) you can use it to get a good idea of your CPU's temperature. There are pros and cons to this method which we discuss in more detail blow.
Another method is to use a freeware utility like Speedfan which not only checks the temperature but speeds up the cooling fan(s) automatically if the temperature increases beyond a preset limit. This is an excellent solution, more details below
